hump day....or hump week.

Only Wednesday, really? This has certainly been a slow week, not a whole lot going on and the office has been very quiet.

Last night I ran intervals for 50 minutes, which knocked another 4miles off. I have run 11.2 miles total (yikes that doesn't sound like very much at all.)

16 days left, 38.8 miles to go. The daily break-out seems to grow, which is making me feel lazy. I hope my legs aren't too tired tonight, hopefully running at least 3 miles.

Weekend Update

This is only the second post, I'm slacking already. Here is the update on my 50 mile goal. After the first update I had 46.8 miles to go.

  • Wednesday 7/8 Day 2: 1.5 miles
  • Thursday 7/9 Day 3: Rest. Shopping with Emma, breakfast/grease fire for dinner.
  • Friday 7/10 Day 4: 2.5 miles, 7 beers, 2 mile walk home from Fenway (which included a stop at the sausage guy, and a bag of cookies from shaws)
  • Saturday 7/11 Day 5: I'm on a Boat - fun day, no run.
  • Sunday 7/12 Day 6: too much fun in the sun on Saturday. Feeling sluggish, walked 1 mile on the treadmill, biked 8 miles. - am not counting this towards my goal.

After Week 1 still have 42.8 miles left to run, and 18 days left to do it in. Which has upped the running ration to 2.37 miles per day. I am thinking if I run intervals tonight I'll knock a few more miles off.

The Starting Line

Recently I ran the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge with my co-workers. It was a 3.5 mile loop from Boston Common to Kenmore Sq. and back, a total of 3.5 miles. So until a few weeks ago that's what I was training for. Now I am not training for anything, but am probably running the Maine Marathon on a relay team. That being said, I got bored just running for nothing, so I decided to set a goal for myself. Today is July 7th, I am going to run 50 miles before July 31st, which is 24 days from now, which is roughly 2.083 miles per day.

I apologize in advance to Lindsay in advance, in case I have to spend most of her Birthday (7/31) running the last 10 miles or so to reach my goal.

Today was day 1 of 24. I ran a 5K loop on the treadmill at the gym, for those of you who don't know that's 3.1 miles. I am hoping to get more running done outside, but for now the gym is the best way for me especially running without a partner. I feel really good about today's run, and working my way towards this new goal!
